Daniel J. Bennett is Owner and Chief Executive Clown of Clownin’ Around, Inc. which he founded in 1986. Mr. Bennett has served in all positions over the years while always providing ongoing leadership direction since going full time with his business venture on July 1, 1993. The company incorporated in 1997 and is based in Columbus, Georgia. He resides in Columbus, Georgia with wife and three children.
Before pursuing Clownin’ Around full-time, Mr. Bennett proudly served on active duty as an Army Infantry Officer from 1988‐1993. He successfully performed in a variety of leadership positions while stationed with the 7th Infantry Division (Light) at Fort Ord, California. The positions included Assistant Brigade S‐3 for 2nd (Cold Steel) Brigade; Battalion S‐3 Air for 5th Battalion 21st Infantry (Gimlets); Executive Officer for B Company 5/21 Infantry; and Platoon Leader for C Company 5/21 Infantry. Captain Bennett’s awards and honors include, but are not limited to, Ranger Tab (1990); Combat Infantryman’s Badge (Operation Just Cause, Panama 1989‐1990); Air Assault Wings (Honor Graduate, 1990); Expert Infantryman’s Badge (1991); and Airborne Wings (1986).
Mr. Bennett’s other personal accomplishments include completing the 1988 TransAmerica Bicycle Trek (3353 miles from Seattle, WA to Atlantic City, NJ); a number of 26.2 mile marathons (to include Boston Marathon in 1985); completing, as part of an eight person relay team, the Run For The Heroes / Run Across Georgia (260+ miles from Savannah GA to Columbus GA) in 2011, 2012, and 2013. His 2013 team were fundraising champions having raised over $25,000 for The House of Heroes. At age 50, on October 11, 2015, after nearly a year of dedicated training, he successfully completed Ironman Louisville (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run) in less than 15 hours. Mr. Bennett has volunteered as a soccer coach, basketball coach, and has assisted with Little League baseball. Mr. Bennett is a native of Syracuse, New York.
He spent his late elementary, high school, and college years living in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Mr. Bennett earned his commission as an Army officer from the Providence College Reserved Officer Training Corps (R.O.T.C.) in 1988 and is a graduate of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in marketing in 1988 as well. He is also a licensed Georgia Real Estate Salesperson / Agent and has maintain active status since.
A long time real estate investor and property manager, Mr. Bennett, in early 2016, successfully completed the Georgia Real Estate Broker Pre-License course and is excited about taking the state licensing exam soon.
